What is an EMF Survey?

Our professional Residential EMF Survey measures electric fields, magnetic fields, radiofrequency (RF) emissions and electromagnetic interference (EMI/Dirty Electricity) within and around your home. Using professional calibrated instrumentation, we assess common sources including electrical wiring, Wi-Fi, smart meters, power lines, substations, mobile phone masts, solar inverters and household electrical equipment. Why Have an EMF Survey?
  • Is my Wi-Fi operating within recognised exposure guidelines?
  • Should I reposition my bed or home office?
  • How much EMF is being produced by my household wiring?
  • Is my smart meter contributing significantly to EMF levels?
  • What effect do nearby power lines or substations have?
  • How close is too close to a mobile phone mast?
  • Can electrical wiring produce elevated electric or magnetic fields?
  • Would shielding or other mitigation measures be beneficial?
  • Should I shield my room?

What Does the Survey Include?

Some clients request a residential EMF survey because they are experiencing symptoms which they believe may be associated with their environment, while others simply wish to understand the electromagnetic environment within their home. An EMF survey cannot diagnose or determine the cause of medical symptoms; however, it can accurately identify and quantify sources of electric fields, magnetic fields and radiofrequency (RF) emissions. Measurements are explained in clear, easy-to-understand terms and, where appropriate, may be compared with both internationally recognised exposure guidelines and Building Biology (SBM) precautionary guidelines for residential sleeping and living environments. This enables homeowners to make informed decisions based on objective measurements rather than assumptions.

Normal sinus rhythm (NSR) is another name for the normal heart rhythm. Normal sinus rhythm is generally defined as between 60 beats and 99 beats per minute. The heartbeat is controlled by regular electric signals (also called an electrical impulse) that spontaneously arise in a structure called the sinus node.

The systemic and precise nature of the electrical impulses ensures that the heart chambers and valves operate in an orderly and rhythmical fashion. While there are electrical impulses controlling the valves and chambers, these electrical impulses vary over different intervals which we will discuss.
